How the buttons work
Some Foundry NW tools show "check price" buttons. Those buttons are affiliate links. If you buy through one, Foundry NW may earn a commission from the store, at no extra cost to you.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Which links are affiliate links
Only the "check price" buttons. Today they go to two stores:
- HVACDirect (hvacdirect.com), through its affiliate program.
- Amazon (amazon.com), through the Amazon Associates program.
Every other link on the tools is a plain link: "Maker's page", "Spec source" and the government and code pages in each method section. The buttons are marked as sponsored links for search engines.
A button never changes the size
Each tool works out the size from its published method first. Products are matched to that size afterward. A product is on the list because of its specs, whether or not it has a button.
One thing to know: in some tools, products in the right size that have a button are listed ahead of ones that don't. The size and the specs on each card stay the same either way.
How a product gets a button
A button goes on a product only when the store's own page is for that exact model, checked against the listing itself. On Amazon the listing must also be sold under the maker's brand, in stock and new when it was checked. Parts and accessories that only mention the model, near-miss models and bundles don't get a button.
A product without a button can still be the best fit. Its "Maker's page" link goes to the maker's own page for it.
No prices, no star ratings
The tools don't show prices, stock or star ratings. Prices change, so you'll see the current price on the store's own page when you click through.
